Prawn noodle shop

Friday evening I suddenly wanted to eat sth spicy. I tried Prawn noodle shop 地址 :灣仔蘭杜街 2 號 8 號舖 and ordered spicy prawn meat noodle (Penang style). Spicy food, perfect remedy to rainy day.

Sad news

I was shocked this morning when I learnt that sb I knew in University has committed suicide last Sat. I met her and her family a few months ago. She looked so ok. Honestly could not understand how it had happened. Really sad. May God give her husband and her daughter strength .
And..farewell my friend! In my memory, she is always cheerful, helpful and truthful.

星期三一班飲食男女再度出征,目的地為新浦崗得龍大酒樓吃懷舊菜,金錢雞、太爺雞不負眾望。最喜歡話梅花雕豬手,話梅酒勁掂,難得清新冰涼口感.生煎蓮藕餅恰到好處,煎得香脆,令人喜出望外,還叫了蝦子柚皮.煎蠔及炸鮮奶拼南乳脆膳,甜品送桂花杞子糕及麥米粥,三小時盡享手工菜,每人百元多,超值!但卡路里超標.一班人食最化算,又可分擔罪咎感~

入大埔,除左去鳳園,亦重遊中學遊玩地點鐵路博物館,兼用阿Ying部Face detection相機拍'玩野'造型照,之後Yannie帶我地幫襯快將結業阿婆荳腐花,滑到你唔信,我都忍唔住講左句「好滑呀!」,行下行下仲發現區內有瓦片屋頂建築物及未除古老酒家招牌舊樓,估唔到大埔都咁好feel.

真正可樂

看見每一個在災區被救出來的人,心裡就一陣激動.電視畫面傳來,被困8O小時的女孩出來了,她說她沒事.另一個男孩也出來了,躺在擔架上,說:叔叔,我可不可以喝可樂?第一次,我為可樂歡呼.

Picasso's prints

I love Picasso's works - the curves, the rounded body features, the faces, so organic, so energetic,so passionate...it keeps on evolving...
The Print exhibition 'French May- Pablo Picasso: The Vollard Suite 17 May to 20 July' in HKU Museum and art gallery is a nice one. However, I found one print that unfits with others -'nude crowning herself with flowers' , that one is quite static.

As I strolled in HKU campus, I found Pacific Coffee housed in Swire Hall G/F and I saw a beautiful tree with blossom outside Main building. Names on the doors of the offices are no longer the same but the building survives nevertheless.

Glad that I got the book from good of desire. Otherwise, I would not know there is such an exhbition going on in the neighbourhood.

I have a chinese book titled 'a century of HK roads and streets' that is about the history of hong kong streets with lots of photos. It is interesting to see that many shops (mainly food and clothing), clinics and restaurants were in the streets. I learnt more about Hong Kong by reading the book. My grandma and grandpa used to live in Hollywood Road and Hollywood Road was a very busy street in those days. I tried to imagine them walking in the streets. Funny!
My secondary school is the first girl's school in HK and the church I went to is one of the oldest churches (the first local church for chinese though if I remember correctly) . I am proud that I am 100% made in HK.

Fung Yuen

This sat I went to Fung Yuen at Tai Po with Ying, Yannie and her mentee. My Friend Connie works there and we visited her as well.
I got stung. The Fung Yuen 'black sesame like' fly 'stings' people. Woo! Woo! : (
But the butterflies and flowers are gorgeous.

Be kind rewind is a crazy but funny movie. Basic elements of the movie: erase, rewind, reproduce, redevelop

Pop corn and pepsi and laughter = my movie watching experience. Joe Black is so into his character inside and outside the 'movie' and Mia Farrow (not in Woody Allen context), Just don't take it too serious, relax and have fun!

Nicole strongly recommended us trying 板長壽司@ Tsim Sha Tsui. We arrived at 6.30, no need to queue up. Sushi was good. We ended up eating many pieces of sushi.....

Summer dessert: tri-colour jelly

I always want to do a three layer colour jelly as dessert for summer but it takes time for each layer to form. You have to do it layer by layer, so you have to wait for a long time before you can taste it, really a EQ challenge! Finally I did it last weekend.

陳腎蠔豉菜乾豬骨粥 &糖水

I went to Tiu Keng Leng for collecting 2 free James Blunt tickets that my sister got for me (I finally decided not to go as I cannot find sb who wanted to go too in such a short notice).

In order to make myself feeling worthwhile of the traveling time, I stopped by APM Agnes B buying a pack of milk chocolate with mixed nuts and on my way back home, I went to 書局街 (北角地鐵站B1 出口)王記糖水(營業時間: 晚上八時至凌晨三時 attached to a restaurant) for my late dinner: 陳腎蠔豉菜乾豬骨粥,ichiban! Can eat more. 喳咋 smooth and not too sweet! Happy la :>

Good Morning

When summer approaches, there is daylight changes. Sometimes I get confused. This morning, I am NOW in the office an hour early because I have not changed my alarm setting. I needed to go to work an hour earlier yesterday, so I set the alarm to 6 a.m. And without realising that, this morning, I woke up and went to work as usual. I did notice there were not many people queuing up for the van but did not realise sth wrong. I grapped a cup of Black tea latte from Starbucks for a change (usually mocha) and read the free papers at subway and train. Finally, when exiting the station, I discovered there were many schoolboys and schoolgirls around me. I looked at the clock in the station and my watch repeatedly. It was only near to 8 a.m.How come? And now you know why? So I take this time gap to do some writing on blog and share this very stupid but funny incident with you, and GOOD MORNING!!!

Savages story

I have seen the movie. A well balanced movie- sense and sensibility.

A guy who left his family for a girl friend. He had not kept in touch with the son and the daughter he had with his wife.

He grew old and got dementia. His girlfriend died. He had no one to rely on. His girlfriend's family would not take care of him anymore. His family came back to take him. His children were not sure how to handle him. Finally they took him to Nursing Home. The plot was so ordinary but it touched on many very important issues...

To love their father or not if he betrayed them once
To put him in a nursing home or not if the responsibility is so huge
To face/not to face the fact that he is dying
And what makes a family?

On relationship: to commit or not to commit in a relationship
The brother has a polish girlfriend that he loves but he does not marry her because of practical issues.
The sister has an affairs with a married guy

The movie poses these questions to the audiences as well. We watch and we think.. how would we answer?

Also, there are lots of interesting contrasts:
dessert vs. Sun City

A brother who is very realisiticvs. a sister who is very idealistic

college professor vs. freelance writer

The play the sister writes and directs is being commented by her brother as successfully blending surrealistic elements with realism. (if I remember correctly the exact wordings)

So could we,in reality, dream for the impossible dream and taking action to make our dream come true?

Before going back to cinema, I watched a French film at home to satisfy my thirst for film.
I have read the book before but could not remember the details.
Watching the film is a different experience. Images are powerful and the film is really 'French'

An afternoon@Stanley

原來美利樓的確與美利大廈有關係,它的原址在中銀大廈位置,至於現址屋頂八支煙囟來自高街精神病院.卜公碼頭剛做了美利樓鄰居,還可在此坐船到蒲台島.餐飲方面,除民益麵家魚旦粉外,赤柱海灣餐廳Bayside是我的舊愛,今次本想試書齋點心(屬POP BITE集團),可惜過了點心時間,改往美利樓Saigon坐坐,氣氛像Rice paper,始終是旅遊區,食物偏貴,但坐露天位吹海風飲杯凍飲,仍然寫意.無意中發現了馳名Jenny Bakery,帶走了一罐曲奇,即使知道銅鑼灣已有分店,也難抵誘惑.

An afternoon@wanchai

Cannot resist visiting The Pawn (re-developed as a dining place by the Press Room Gp) after reading HK walker. So Ying and I went there and spent an afternoon in the district. Also visited a new used book shop 'book attic'.
Central, Wanchai and Yaumatei are my favorite districts in HK.
