Amazing International City- Beijing

The hotel that I am staying in will house a group of writers next week. The function is organised by The Bookworm (www.chinabookworm.com). It is an international literary festival in celebration of literature. It has a very amazing library like cafe and English bookstore in Salitun. I enjoyed spending hours there. The cafes that I go is always filled up by expatriates and OL. There is even a trade show targeted towards expatriates. In the hotel, in the cafe, I hear French everyday. I even joked about this with my friend saying that I do not have to go to Paris learning French.

Oui, my next stop is Paris!

Live in Beijing

Arrived at Beijing. Staying in the hotel enjoying Wi-fi, also using hotel ipod docking listening to X Japan.
Though X Japan has not confirmed its tour in Beijing but I am bringing it 'LIVE' in Beijing.

Very 'Girlish' Rock, glamorous,sweet,innocent and spicy.
Audiences like her because she is so 'herself', no matter whether that is the truth or just the image.
It is the kind of girl who steps across the line and the guys are not offended or intimidated.
Cheer Chan is a good performer. Listening to her music is always a pleasure. Her songs tells us that we could still pursue our dreams and we could still choose our way of life.
Being in HK Coliseum, she resisted very much to be idolized but this is a stage for a star or an icon. And she no doubts becomes an icon to those who want to preserve the true self and hold on to dreams.
I started listening to her songs 3 years ago. Her music is becoming more mature and her guitar skills are better. I am lucky enough to be in time to see her first perfomance in newly renovated HK Coliseum.

Technical problems

I bought my second mini mac three months ago and it was broken on the day that I took marathon. I suspected that it had hardware problem because the day before marathon, I was not able to load songs to my i-pod shuffle. Anyway, I managed to use my samsung network to connect to network. So I tend to avoid fixing the mini mac：）

電影親密及浮生路

親密不是不好，但不是香港人口味，平實得令人覺得沈悶．
浮生路顯示模範夫婦婚姻內個人與家庭．理想與現實．理性與瘋狂之間的張力，有意思，演員有爆炸力．有戲味，一部很sad但值得看的電影．

給自己的情人餐

途經中信大廈，正值肚餓非常，看見一法式餐廳逸廬，地方細細，法式優雅，午餐$80-120，酥皮湯另加$20，值得加，酥皮脆不油，牛膝燒得好，皮香脆，肉滑，份量非常多，就算咖啡可添飲，我也無福消受．這美妙午餐令人愉快．

Wonderful News

For the last three weeks, I was informed by 3 families that 3 babies were born.
Also, 3 of my my friends got pregnant.
So for these few weeks, I am surrounded by 'baby' news.
Congratulations to all parents and parents to be!

多得電台節目Helid beautiful sunday音樂支持，多謝ＨＫＵ隊在終點鼓聲鼓勵，雖然不是用ＨＫＵ身份出賽，但鼓聲仍像為我而鳴，出乎意料非常順利完成賽事，途中還遇上大學同學JJ．
然後半夢半醒參加祟拜，緊接出席歡送友人出外進修的自助餐聚會.
由於兒甥女知我參加馬拉松，在新聞片段卻找不到我，出現「見唔到姨媽」的疑問，我惟有親身到訪她家，答謝她的支持．她小小年紀，已懂得叫我「加油」，為我打氣了．

搭霸王車

首次見證人搭霸王車是十幾年前在巴黎，他們是跳閘高手．
港鐵剛剛公佈在上水羅湖站，跟人過閘及撞閘增加，我想可改閘門設計（不用轉閘／改變轉動時限）．特別時段廣播及在那短短車程加車廂查票員或索性進行即日上水羅湖兩次乘車優惠，令坐霸王車無賺．或像機場出囗大螢幕，讓人一目了然．

茄汁薯條

我食薯條不加茄汁，但這包Burger King茄汁薯條，卻有另一種風味．

度小月

表妹知我上次去台灣，沒時間去度小月，特別給我肉燥做手信，佐飯一流．

食麵

照表妹建議，試食黃枝記肉絲炒麵（乾炒），麵質好，不飽滯，香得來又夠乾身，我最愛吃它的竹升麵．附近蛇王芬我也鍾情，最近經名人飯堂推介，立即其門如市，上星期光顧過，由於一人前往，未能嘗嘗煲仔飯．

Too Fat

This sunday is standard chartered marathon. I am a bit worried as I only started training this week. Have to admit that I am becoming more fat and lazy. Hope that I can still finish the 10 km.

選擇

Simplylife進駐IFC，用了前Canteen靚位，食物服務保持水準，意大利飯做得尤其好，3道菜$200-300 (no coffee, instead iced tea/soft drink)，冇a la carte，選擇太受限制，套餐覆蓋不同食材，但沒有選擇，仍然不爽．

愈教育愈化學

早前身為小學老師的朋友告訴我，現在的小學生跟我十年前教過的，不可同日而語．
同事午飯聚首，其中多為人父母，席間掀起討論．晚上家中續看中文解毒，書中所提見解跟茶餘飯後討論結果相若，節錄一段，分享之．

教育愈失敗，投入公帑愈多，衍生的教育「商機」（補習社等）愈大．幼童疲於奔命，過份學習，學不博雅，思不精純，於是大學要補回中小學課程，大學畢業後持續補修，教育變成無饜足的消費行業．
