The flooding is so serious, coupled with super strong wind. I truly hope 'God bless America' and it is not just a slogan that we hear from politicians in front of TV.
I was very obsessed with the idea that macarons have legs and clams have foot (one only). I felt so strange when I ate them knowing that 'legs' or 'foot' are there. Naming really makes a difference.
I was forced to upgrade my iphone to a higher IOS. I cannot ACCESS certain apps because of not upgrading. I HATE the idea of "non stop progressing". Do I have a choice? Can I be happy with status quo? Could I not 'progress'? Why do we have to follow others' practices? Why do we have to follow the mind of the 'programmers'? Why do we need to respond to whats' app? Sometimes, I felt like voluntarily surrendering to Big Brother, who knows about myself more than I do. The data they collected about me made me feel so naked and insecure. So I may have to get myself off from the techno convenience. I respect people who are not using smart phones because sometimes smart phones only make the users look more stupid.
I went into the University store I saw a book named Wittgenstein's antiphilosophy I did not buy that book I bought the book written by the same author Alain Badiou. In praise of Love The translator Peter Bush translated it to beautiful English. Found the website below when searching for more info about the book on Wittgenstein, really nice and resourceful webpage http://www.apieceofmonologue.com/2011/07/alain-badiou-wittgenstein.html?m=1
My boss recently 'unlike' me as I have to tell him some facts/truth. It is never easy to be honest. But I want to be honest than be sorry.
I have read some articles on dOCUMENTA in local newspaper and magazines. I think that none of them fully presents the uniqueness of dOUCMENTA. dOCUMENTA is about documentation and the brochure is a 'thick catalogue' illustrating ideas with words in 'un'fancy format. The exhibition is about 'Perpective(s) on Perspective(s)', a collision of realities, a statement to the world by the Artists. It is not just another exhibition. It is an exhbition of documentation which opens to interpretation.

My master thesis on law and language, which I have done long time ago, can still be accessed with internet. With HKU Scholar Hub statistics, I can view the statistics and the profile. So glad that my thesis has been read by some.
I like to go to museums, but museums have more restrictions now - must use cloakroom/ cannot not bring bottle water because there are people who will ruin artwork simply for the sake of making his/her statement.
This happened to the Rothko's works I saw in Tate. A Russian guy drew on the works with his marker.....
Well... if sb dislike certain artworks, they could create their own using softwares, apps and please do not ruin the real one!!!

Wish the developers won't destroy communities like Soho in Wanchai, Central and Sheung Wan. The spontaneous and organic development allows the communities to grow and no planning is necessary. Any planned market, shop or mall will only destroy particularities that attract people. We do not go to travel to see the same things. We are the same but not that the same. Trend changed, people need no 'malls'. Even mainlanders came to HK for camping and less people go to shopping malls during tourist golden week! Small shops in Sheung Wan should be allowed to survive without the threat of ever raising rents. Governemnt has to protect these communities because communities form solidarity and security for people. time to grief, also a time to be close to God.
Discussed with my friends earlier during 'Yum Cha' about the trend that people return to rural life, both in England and in HK. The link below sheds light on this topic: http://www.shrinkingcities.com/index.php?L=1
Philosophy can be popular? Yes, at least for the Dutch people. http://www.filosofiemagazine.nl/nl/content/22985/all-of-these-people-come-here-for-philosophy.html The European countries did good jobs in preserving what human beings are. In France, the French preserve the bookstores. In Dutch, they use philosophy to handle everyday life which enable people to discuss with reason.
