當我接受了姨媽的稱謂,就豁出去了.但當朋友(Derek and Flora)教仔仔 Cedric叫我做姐姐,我還是非常受落.

久聞其名,有位教授請客,因此我和同事在陽光的陪伴下,在戶外享受泰印式午餐,可惜這兩個國家正值動盪,希望事件早日解決,和平重臨.

可以吃的文學作品

正值源氏物語紀念及展覽,懷石料理館乘時參照源氏物語內容推出復古料理,「好睇之餘又好食」,芝麻荳腐盡顯京風的細緻.

安藤忠雄印記

認他的作品不困難,灰灰的水泥牆是它的印記.曾到過直島住他設計的酒店,今次參觀的是博物館suntory museum.依然人與自然是衝著埋身的課題,大阪港的風很大,博物館內的寧靜與館外的波濤洶湧,因對比而和諧.近年,安藤忠雄是極受追棒的,他成功創造空間,讓自然溶入人生活.但一個電視紀錄片,讓我看到事情的兩面.看紀錄片中女士中森明菜look,應該是8O年代的製作.像Fab5,不只把別人家居重新佈置,他更是整楝拆掉,重新興建.從中我看到它的建築結搆,木板固定水泥像極三文治,很多綱條穿插.
新建的樓房頂部通天,坐在家中可透過落地玻璃看雨景.不過這就沒有了從前在二慺看街景的趣味,而沒手把的特色樓梯,對有小孩和老人的家庭,實在不大適宜,外觀與其餘樓房也不大協調.居住在中間的人,與天近了,但與人未必更接近.

重訪大阪,初踏京都

這次我重訪大阪,初踏京都,新鮮感欠奉,因為在香港,太容易接觸日本資訊和事物.反而我的兒甥女非常享受新環境,完全適應自由行要求.
然而經過這次旅程,我對日本社會有了新的了解,日日新聞經濟不.相比日本,香港的情況其實不算壞,市面氣氛仍熱烈,血拼消費也是一種動力.

First weekend after trip to Japan

I had good coffee (tea set actually) at Wooden table (Fortress Hill). Then I watched 'burning after reading' at Times Square UA. Time Square now has Carrie Chau's exhibition. I bought the netbook at Gome and had hairy crab for dinner at home.
'Burning after reading' is a very entertaining movie, a mockery of 'secret' , what believes as a secret is not a secret; the person who is believed to be secretive has no secret. No one we could trust; The ability to analyse data does not translate to the interpretation of the real world . There is no such thing as order. There are things that we cannot reason but they happen and develop in their own ways. No more norms... and things are becoming unpredictable. An absurd movie for an absurd world.

All actors and actresses play well. Brad Pitt has been tranfomed by the Coen brothers to be a person who knows who to play comedy.

New gadget

Following xh's advice, I bought samsung netbook. Now I can surf in cafes that have wifi, hahaha!so cool... Love it!

Not in love with Bond

I seldom watch James Bond movies. hardly remembered when the last time was.
As there was no other option, I chose James Bond QUANTUM OF SOLACE, complete mystery to me, no idea of what's going on, puzzled???

Meeting Mrs. Chu's mom at Harlan's

Mrs. Ma (Mrs. Chu's mom) has just been to panama canal. I was very interested in knowing how panama canal was like. Mrs. Chu took us (including their friend Teresa) to Harlan's for a dinner and had a chat. My first time visit to Harlan's was not bad. The florentina beef steak - Bistecca alla Florentina Tuscan-Style Grilled T-bone Steak(mrs. Chu's recommendation) was juicy and tender. The location of the restaurant provided nice harbour view. Unlike what openrice people say, the service was pretty good during dinner time.
Mrs. Ma gave us a vivid description of how the cruise ship went into the canal, it was an experience that was beyond imagination.

btw,' simplylife' has replaced 'canteen' in IFC.

Sweet, too sweet

As sweet as you would expect, meringue ma..
but the the lemon tart base balanced a bit the taste
what attracted me was not the taste but the 'cirque du Soleil' appearance, so vibrant!

"Smart people", really smart?

I doubted after watching smart people (movie). They do not appear to be amusingly clever to me. I was expecting sth witty/sharp thoughts in their lines that show the 'smartness'...An English Professor, a future to be harvard student, a poet who wrote a poem that has been accepted by the New Yorker, a doctor in charge of A&E, smart?!! It really depends how you definie it. They are functional, sarcastic, perhap cynical but I can't say..smart. sorry. Or the title itself meant to be ironic?

十月尾,IFC內的Agnes le Pain gril1e開業了,cosy得來有法式貴氣,且滿有情調,服務員態度親切,食物跟其他分店差不多,但環繞周邊的是自家品牌.衣飾.花店咖啡糕點輕食區,自成一角的1oggia,四千平方呎的地方,營造一種只此一家的悠閒.

生老病死

草間彌生,七十多歲的Avant garde畫家,決定畫五十幅以愛為主題的畫,其中一幅被她命名為生老病死.紀錄片「愛慕自己」的拍攝者問這四個漢字,是甚麼意思?草間彌生瞪大了那大大又清明的眼,停了幾秒,胡亂答了兩句.是的,對一個時常思生老病死的人,心中的答案不能靠賴言語.她的畫,才是她的聲音.
自小到大自殺念頭在纏繞,惟有捉緊生命重複又簡單的美,意圖去改寫童年痛苦的回憶,一直憤力在精神病患中與孤單作戰.時間流逝,在畫中找到美,在美中找到愛,在愛中找尋到生存的意義.
名成利就了卻已一把年紀,她還有很多的夢想,但是身體不斷出賣她,因為太專注作畫,她的眼淚一直在流.她急步行,希望忘記需要輪椅扶助的想法.她自覺,認為自己是天才,望著自己的詩畫,不斷讚嘆.她在意別人對她的看法,但卻願意在喜劇節目中跳引人發笑的舞蹈,不過她亦令身邊的人明白,她的參與是自願的,不是被擺佈,不是笑柄,反而懂得開自己玩笑,說別人等著她死,好把她珍藏真蹟賣錢,這她可不介意,最緊要價錢賣得高一點.
她讓自己成為品牌,成為icon,因此不滅.她用畫布鋪出生的光輝;像櫻花,美麗綻放;凋謝時,如淒美的詩,訴說美得心碎的故事,編織令人難以忘懷的傳奇.

我的快樂年代

我記得,那一年,我成績好,母親答應我買本新出版的兒童樂園,結果她忘記了,我還恨媽媽是個大話王.看羅冠樵兒童樂園展覽,我發現我的道德教育很大程度來自兒童樂園,我最愛的欄目是迷宮,你呢?
