Red Cliff
I wanted to watch batman but Mrs. Chu asked me to watch Red cliff.
I listened to her and followed her suggestion.
It is a mixture of styles - borrowing from here and there.
I do enjoy the playful episodes in this war film,
The 'crystalized' spilling of blood is John Woo's 'signature dish'.
The film has sth 'witty' but far from intelligent.
Wu Jun who played Chiu Ji Lung is eye catching.
However, I cannot stand those still shots. Their facial expressions look so funny and shallow.
Cannot really conclude what the film is until I watch part 2.

My movie pals have told me Red Cliff is a very very bad film, with that opinion in mind - it came out "not THAT bad" for me.
On the other hand, I watched Batman this past weekend too, it's really really good. Go go go!
similar, I was not expecting anything but it turned out better than I thought.
But I do think batman suits me more.
