Noise
I attended the Good Friday service of my sister's church. My niece was there. At her naughty 2, she could not help talking all the time. She of course did not know that she may disturb others. She just kept repeating what she heard and kept asking all kind of questions. Annoying... no doubt, someone on the next row asked her to stop. Of course I agreed that my niece was not behaved entirely as we would want her to be. But as a kid at the age of 2, she can stay for an hour not making a big scene was in itself amazing. The whole service lasted for 2 hours. Some adults may have fell asleep. My niece at least stayed awake. I am not defending her but it makes me think that why we want our christian life to be always undisturbed. Always in order, always no choas, always in control???
Would it be otherwise...to be a christian is somehow trying to hear God's voice when there are noises. We have to learn to stay focused no matter how, no matter where.
I always bear in mind that Jesus welcomes children. The current quiet mode of service is not universal truth and sometimes some noises may just make our spirtual life stronger. so thank you my niece. Sitting next to you today trained my ability to be more focused on HIM.

"can't agree more, Gigi, esp. re the part, how we expect a Christian life would / should be....but living in this sinful world, we just can't be immune from the unpredictable, unpleasant...which are all built in unless and until we are in heaven
Yet, it's undertandable that some people may have had enough (I mean noise) in daily life that they get so tired and fragile but still so earnest in the quest for His voice (which "ironically" is small at times......" quoted from lilian
I did not it for her as she could not log on to leave a comment
